The St. James Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Holiday Festival this weekend in St. James. The highlight of the festival is the Holi-Bi-Dazzle Parade, which gets underway at 5:30pm today (FRI) on Main Street in St. James. Other events this evening include the Holiday Village Caroling Walk, a chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, free trolley rides, and more. St. James Holiday Festival events continue on Saturday, including several free family activities, different food throughout the day, and more. The Holiday Festival continues on Sunday as well. There are numerous holiday events taking place in the City of St. Peter this weekend, and they get underway with the annual “Breakfast With Santa” Saturday morning. It takes place from 7:30 to 11am Saturday at the Church of St. Peter on the west end of town. Call (507)931-4314 for more information. The holiday fun then continues at the St. Peter Community Center, where from 9 to 10:30am Saturday it’s the “Great Candy Cane Hunt.” Kids will be searching for over 2,000 candy canes throughout the community center. Beginning at 4pm Saturday is the annual Ice Fish House Parade also, and around 50 entries are expected. Christmas In Christ Chapel is this weekend as well at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, and several other events are also taking place in the community.
The City of Sanborn celebrates the 19th annual “Memories of a Hometown Christmas” on Saturday. Highlights include a Bake Sale and Holiday Extravaganza from 10 to 2 at the Sanborn Fire Hall, Christmas For Kids at Sanborn City Hall from 10 to 2, free sleigh rides, pony rides, games and ice cream throughout the afternoon, along with prize drawings, the chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a Children’s Story Hour, a medallion hunt, and many more activities in Sanborn for their Memories of a Hometown Christmas.
In the City of Arlington, the Arli-Dazzle Parade begins at 5:30pm Saturday, with several other events taking place throughout the community all day, and numerous events are taking place as part of “Christmas In Lake Crystal” on Saturday as well.
