A 19-year-old New Ulm man who took part in several break-ins at businesses in the City of Gaylord this past summer has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and 5 years of supervised probation for the crimes. Sean David McFarland pleaded guilty to felony 3rd-degree burglary in Sibley County Court on Thursday and 2 other burglary charges were dismissed. He and a juvenile male from New Ulm and 2 juvenile females from Gaylord were accused of stealing cash from Kranz Lawn and ATV in Gaylord, cigarettes from Gaylord Sanitation, and a laptop computer from the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Along with the jail and probation time, McFarland has also been ordered to pay over $2,600 in restitution and complete 120 hours of Sentence To Service work. He also faces charges in Nicollet County for a break-in at the Klossner House during the same time period.
