All three Minnesota-based teams in the NCAA Division II national volleyball tournament won opening round games in St. Paul last night. Top-seed Concordia-St. Paul swept Wayne State in straight sets 3-0. Second-seed Southwest Minnesota State was a straight set winner over Truman State of Missouri. And, fifth-seed Minnesota-Duluth won 3-2 over four-seed Central Missouri. That sets up second round action tonight on the Concordia-St. Paul campus. The host Golden Bears take on Minnesota-Duluth, while Southwest Minnesota State plays Nebraska-Kearney. Tonight’s winners advance to the Sweet 16 of the national tourney. Concordia-St. Paul has won the last five national titles in NCAA Division II play.
