A Mankato man is suing Blue Earth County in an attempt to get back over $9,000 that was confiscated during a drug raid. Agents with the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force had searched a home on North 6th Street in Mankato in September after authorities received a tip that the residents had purchased 25-pounds of marijuana. Several types of drugs and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in the home, and the agents seized thousands of dollars in cash, including over $9,200 found in a jar that Steven James Eshleman claims belongs to him. Authorities have since begun the process that forces him to forfeit the cash. His civil suit is required in order to have the cash returned. No charges have been filed in connection to the raid at this time.
