A hog barn near Comfrey was totally destroyed by a fire Wednesday night. The Jeffers Fire Department responded to the blaze at around 9pm before requesting mutual aid assistance from Comfrey and Darfur firefighters. The barn was located off of Highway 30 and County Road 2 southwest of Comfrey. There are reportedly a total of 7 barns on the property, but just the one burned down. No injuries have been reported, and a damage estimate is not available.
