A 28-year-old New Ulm man is in custody after allegedly leading New Ulm Police on a car chase early Sunday morning. An officer reportedly noticed Matthew Cassidy Powell parked outside a closed business on New Ulm’s Westridge Road, but when he attempted to follow Powell he allegedly sped away in an attempt to flee, which is a felony offense. Another officer later found Powell on foot and took him into custody. He is expected to make his initial appearance in Brown County Court today (MON).
