The King and Queen of Sweden will be visiting the City of St. Peter this week. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will be at Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the college, which was founded by Swedish immigrants. Gustavus Spokesperson Barb Larson Taylor says that the community is very excited. The events with the King and Queen begin at 10am Friday, when the royal couple will meet school and city officials. There will then be a walking procession to the college chapel with the route lined by St. Peter school children, and formal ceremonies that include the dedication of the new Sesquicentennial Plaza at Gustavus, among other events.
