A probable cause hearing was held last Wednesday for a 19-year-old Fairmont man facing arson charges for allegedly starting a fire at a Fairmont school in April. Timothy Brickner is accused of setting some curtains on fire in the gym of the Lincoln School in Fairmont on the morning of April 27th. The fire was contained to the stage area of the gym, but it did prompt the evacuation of the Alternative Learning Center, Stepping Stones daycare and Head Start classes in the school. Brickner was a student at the ALC at the time. His court hearing on Wednesday centered around the testimony of another teenager that had been interviewed by Fairmont police concerning the fire. Due to some confidential information about the juvenile that is discussed during the testimony, the interview will be transcripted, with the confidential information redacted. The transcript will be completed within two weeks.
