The month of October is starting off with a Red Flag Warning across western Minnesota. The National Weather Service says wind gusts over dry grass will elevate the fire danger along a line westward of Albert Lea, Mankato, St. Cloud and Bemidji following a few possible rain storms. Meteorologist Steve Woolenhouse says that the Red Flag Warning goes into effect this afternoon. He says that the 70-degree days will persist through Wednesday. After that the mercury will settle back into the 50-degree range for the weekend.
