NU City Council Preview 16 Oct 12

The New Ulm City Council will be discussing a proposed Dog Park for the community during it’s meeting this (TUE) evening. The New Ulm Park and Rec Department recently recommended South German Park as the ideal location for a dog park after reviewing 10 potential sites. Highland Park was the alternate site. The city council today will consider approving South German Park as the location, with the future dog park being situated between the winter sledding area in the park and the city’s snow-dump area. The proposed park would consist of either one or two chain-link fence areas, and would be funded entirely by donations. In other business this evening, the council will consider the preliminary approval of an updated city budget for 2013 that would bring the property tax levy increase for next year down to just-over 4%. Public hearings will also be held on weed removal assessments and last year’s Utility, Street and Alley improvements. Today’s New Ulm City Council meeting begins at 5pm at City Hall.
