The Nicollet County Board chose a new county administrator Tuesday. Following a brief discussion, the Board unanimously agreed to offer the job to Yellow Medicine County Administrator Ryan Krosch. There were 25 applicants for the position during this most recent posting, and those were narrowed down to 3 finalists. Krosch is from the Vernon Center area, and previously served as community and economic development director for the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission and in a similar capacity with the Mid-Minnesota Development Commission. The other finalists were Aitkin County Administrator Patrick Wussow and Stewartville City Administrator Bill Schimmel Jr. Former Nicollet County Administrator Bob Podhradsky retired in June after 22 years on the job, and Nicollet County Auditor-Treasurer Bridgette Kennedy has been serving as Interim Administrator since that time. There is currently no word on when Krosch would begin his duties with Nicollet County. The Board had hoped to fill the position by January 1st.
