Local School Referendums 30 Oct 12

Election Day is one week from today (TUE), and a total of 40 Minnesota school districts will have operating referendums on the ballot this year, 7 of them in the KNUJ listening area. Each school district is seeking a different monetary amount from it’s taxpayers, but the need for the additional funds is the same in each community, including for the Madelia School District, where the proposed $700 per-pupil levy referendum would reportedly cost the average homeowner around $3 a week. Other local-area school districts with referendums on the ballot next Tuesday include New Ulm, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart, Fairmont, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial, Renville County West, and Sleepy Eye.
