Fire Danger Remains High 02 Oct 12

With strong winds, low humidity and warm weather in the forecast, the fire danger remains high in the western third of the state today (TUE). The Interagency Fire Center’s Jean Goad says that people are the cause of many of the recent fires in the region, including from mowers hitting rocks and causing a spark and ATV’s parked on dried grass that start a fire. Goad says that campfire restrictions remain in place throughout most of the state and no new burning permits are being issued. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect for most of the area for the majority of the day.
