The New Ulm District 88 School Board on Thursday approved 4 years worth of contracts for district food service, clerical and custodial employees. Two separate two-year contracts were approved for each group, which are each represented by the same union. The contracts call for salaries to increase by 1% each of the final 3 years, beginning this school year. In addition, the district contribution to health insurance premiums will increase by half the amount of the actual increase for each of those 3 years. The other half of the increase will be covered by the employees. The district has not yet settled contracts with paraprofessionals, principals and non-unionized employees.
