Candidate Forums Today 16 Oct 12

The New Ulm League of Women Voters is holding a forum featuring the candidates for New Ulm City Council today (TUE). The candidate forum begins at 7pm at New Ulm City Hall, and will be broadcast live on 860-AM KNUJ and It will also be on community access television. The candidates for the city council president at-large position include Incumbent Chuck Schmitz and Ron Larsen. The Ward 1 candidates are Incumbent Ruth Ann Webster and Joel Boehlke. The Ward 3 candidates are Incumbent Les Schultz and Chuck Hanson. Ward 2 New Ulm City Councilor Lisa Fischer is running unopposed.

The City of Redwood Falls is hosting a District 16 candidate forum this (TUE) evening. The forum is co-sponsored by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, and will include the candidates for State Senate District 16, Republican Gary Dahms and Democrat Ted Suss, and the candidates for House District 16B, Republican Paul Torkelson and Democrat James Kanne. It is unclear if Independent House Candidate Jerry “Pike” Pagel will be in attendance. Forum topics will include property taxes, the state budget, and economic development, and Redwood Falls Mayor Gary Revier will serve as moderator. The forum begins at 7pm at Redwood Falls City Hall.
