Twins Win, Sept. Call Ups 05 Sep 12

Minnesota plated 10 runs in the fifth on its way to an 18-9 win over the White Sox. Chris Parmelee hit a three-run homer and drove in four while Ryan Doumit added a solo shot and plated three runs. Scott Diamond allowed four runs over five innings to improve to 11-and-6. The Twins had lost back-to-back games. P.J. Walters will go up against Jake Peavy in this afternoon’s series finale. Twins Call Up Perdomo, Escobar

The Minnesota Twins have called up infielder Eduardo Escobar and pitcher Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Rochester. Escobar was acquired from Chicago on July 28th as part of the Francisco Liriano trade. He batted .207 in 36 games with the White Sox this season prior to the trade. Perdomo pitched in five games earlier this year with the Twins and gave up three runs, one earned, and five hits over six innings. He struck out three and walked seven.
