A Bricelyn woman was injured Monday evening when a wild turkey smashed into a car window in Freeborn County. It happened at about 6:15pm on southbound Interstate 35 near Ellendale. 66-year-old Mary Haukoos was riding in a 2003 Honda Civic when the bird struck the passenger-side window of the car and caused her to suffer facial injuries. She was taken to the Albert Lea Hospital by Ellendale Ambulance, and her injuries are said to be non-life threatening. The driver of the Civic, her husband Ronald Haukoos was not hurt.
