Schools across the state now have another way that they can raise funds. For the first time, K-12 public schools can now accept online donations through the website www.givemn.org. Give-MN’s Dana Nelson says that a number of schools across the state have already added their website to the page. She says this is in no way a replacement of adequate funding from the state for our schools, but is just another great option for schools to raise some additional funds. Nelson says by setting up a fundraising page on Give-MN, schools will have the opportunity to reach donors throughout the world. The website has raised $50-million for more than 6,100 non-profits since 2009. If a school district is not registered with Give-MN yet, school administrators can go online for an application.
