A fire in Olivia on Sunday night gutted the building that housed the Renville County Food Shelf, the Red Cross office, a thrift store and an apartment. Olivia Fire Chief Tim Seehusen says the fire was intentionally set. He says people should listen to what people are saying about the fire, and report any suspicious comments. He also says that it’s sad to see something like this happen, because the food shelf is there to help people. Olivia Fire Crews were assisted by the Danube and Bird Island Fire Departments. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Olivia Police Department, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, or the state Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020 . Renville County Food Shelf officials says they will remain closed until further notice while a temporary site is found.
