The Redwood Falls City Council on Tuesday received an update on the Redwood County Law Enforcement Center renovation project. The $3.5-million project would add several thousand square-feet to the space currently being used by the Redwood Falls Police Department and Redwood County Sheriff’s Department. Several renovations and updates will be done as well, including an expanded lobby area, cell block improvements, new security measures, the remodeling of the dispatch area, and more. A call for bids will be put out this coming March, with construction then being done in phases. The goal is to have the construction completed and the building occupied by January of 2014. The cost to the city of Redwood Falls has not been determined at this time.
