The New Ulm District 88 School Board is scheduled to discuss the district’s upcoming levy referendum during it’s monthly “Study Session” this (THU) evening. District 88 will be asking voters to approve a new 10-year, $575 per-pupil referendum that would generate around a million dollars annually for New Ulm schools. This evening’s discussion will include the Referendum Support Team. Election Day is November 6th. In other business this evening, the District 88 Board is scheduled to approve the contract of new Washington Elementary Interim Principal Les Koppendrayer. He is expected to serve in the position for one year while a permanent principal to replace Bill Sprung is found. Sprung left the district recently for a similar position in Montevideo. Koppendrayer recently retired as principal of Franklin Elementary School in Mankato. The board is also scheduled to learn more about a new state system that tracks students’ school progress. This evening’s District 88 School Board meeting begins at 5 o’clock at the District Administrative Center in New Ulm.
