Minnesota farmers continue to make rapid progress on the state’s soybean harvest. The USDA weekly crop progress report for the state says that producers have harvested 45% of the soybean crop as of Sunday, up 29 percentage points from a week earlier and well ahead of the 5-year average of 5%. Soybean conditions are rated 60% good to excellent. The state’s corn crop is now 30% harvested as well, compared with a 2% average. Corn conditions are rated 55% good to excellent. Drought and abnormally dry conditions now cover 96% of Minnesota, and 55% of the state’s soil is rated poor to very poor.
