MFU Members In DC 10 Sep 12

Minnesota Farmers Union members are leaving for Washington DC today (MON). MFU President Doug Peterson says that with only 8 working days left for Congress to finish up important business like the farm bill and other critical rural issues, Farmers Union members know what’s at stake. That includes issues such as crop insurance, a strong safety net, rural development, and disaster relief. Peterson says that Farmers Union members will also attend a “Farm Bill Now” rally to encourage Congress to pass a farm bill in 2012. Merlyn Hubin of Westbrook and Mitchell Farmer-Lies of Belle Plaine are the local-area members on the trip. The Minnesota delegation is in DC through Wednesday.
