A 19-year-old MSU-Mankato student was taken into custody on Sunday after allegedly burglarizing three apartments and tampering with a motor vehicle. Niklas Mark Tulkki had been detained by a security officer at around 3:30am on Warren Street in Mankato after allegedly throwing an object at a parked vehicle. It was determined that Tulkki was a suspect in several burglaries at the apartment complex after a resident reported seeing him loitering in a hallway and watched him enter and exit an apartment. The resident told police that she was able to grab his student ID card from him before he fled on foot. Authorities then used the ID to help connect him to other incidents. He’s now facing multiple felony charges.
