Fall Tourism Outlook 10 Sep 12

The fall travel season is getting underway in Minnesota, and State Tourism Director John Edman says the drought shouldn’t impact visits to most locations in the state. Edman says that even though the colors have been changing early, the weather has been great for hiking, biking, fishing, golfing, and similar activities. He says he’s talked with resort owners who are booked the whole month of September. A recent Explore Minnesota survey found that 80% of lodging businesses expect fall occupancy to be the same or better than last year.
