An 18-year-old Madison Lake man accused of taking part in a drive-by shooting in Mankato earlier this year has pleaded guilty to two charges as part of a plea deal. Alexander Marxen was one of four people arrested in early March after police responded to the drive-by shooting report in west Mankato. Witnesses said that Marxen fired several shots at a vehicle and a person, although he claimed to have only fired once into the air to protect himself and his friends. No one was injured in the incident, and on Tuesday Marxen pleaded guilty to felony drive-by shooting and 2nd-degree assault. Five other charges, including two counts of attempted murder, were dismissed. His sentencing is scheduled for November 13th. He faces up to 7 years in prison.
