The New Ulm District 88 School board approved an employment agreement with Washington School’s interim principal Les Koppendrayer. Koppendrayer’s contract is for a flexible length of time, between 178 and 185 days depending on need. He will get up to 18 sick-leave days if needed and will be responsible for supervising six evening events. However, he will receive no health insurance and no teacher retirement account payments or other benefits. The length of time for the agreement is to allow for recruitment of a permanent principal. Koppendrayer just retired from a school in Mankato. Former Washington principal Bill Sprung left the school after accepting a different position in Montevideo.
