The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be visiting a few communities in the area this week as National Preparedness Month continues. The Red Cross helps the public prepare for and respond to emergencies by having a good supply of blood ready. Local Red Cross Spokesperson Kerry Cipra says that it’s easy for people to give blood. She says all it takes is a desire to help others, you must be at least 110-pounds, be 17-years-old – or 16 with parental consent, and have a photo ID. The whole process takes about an hour, and the actual giving of blood only about 10 minutes. The Bloodmobile will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson from Noon to 6 on Tuesday, at the Mayer Community Center from 1 to 7 on Wednesday, and at the Gaylord American Legion from 1 to 7 on Thursday. Donors can also Give The Gift Of Life at the Mankato Red Cross Headquarters from 12:30 to 5:30 on Wednesday and Thursday and 9am to 1pm on Friday.
