A Willmar boy injured in a boating accident last Saturday near Lake Lillian suffered massive facial injuries, and is expected to need reconstructive surgery. 8-year-old William Huisinga was in critical condition this week after he was struck by a pontoon while knee-boarding with his family on Big Kandiyohi Lake. Most of the bones in the boy’s face were broken, and his left eye was also seriously injured. He has already undergone surgery this week, and is expected to remain in the hospital for several weeks. Authorities say that alcohol was not a factor.
