Weekly MN Crop Report 14 Aug 12

The conditions of Minnesota’s corn and soybean crops are holding relatively steady as the drought continues to spare most of the state. The USDA’s weekly crop progress report says that cool, dry conditions prevailed last week, with average temperatures 3-degrees below normal. Topsoil moisture supplies held fairly steady as well, and the state’s spring wheat harvest was 92% complete as of Sunday, compared with 17% last year and a 30% 5-year average. Minnesota’s corn crop was rated 77% in fair to good condition as well, while soybeans were rated 80% fair to good.
