Twins Win, Host All Star Game 30 Aug 12

Trevor Plouffe was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI as the Twins crushed the Mariners, 10-0. Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham and Justin Morneau each knocked in two runs apiece to help Minnesota win for only the second time in its last nine games. Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game is coming to the Twin Cities. MLB Commissioner Bud Selig [[ SEE-lig ]] says the 2014 Midsummer Classic will be played at Target Field. This will be the first All-Star Game in Minneapolis since 1985 at the Metrodome. The Twins moved outdoors to Target Field in 2010.

Twins Make Roster Moves

The Twins recalled infielder/outfielder Chris Parmelee from Triple-A Rochester and outrighted the contract of pitcher Jeff Gray to the minor league club yesterday. Parmelee hit .338 this season at Rochester with 17 homers and 49 RBI.
