Nishioka Returns, Revere Delivers
(Cleveland, OH) — A couple of young Twins have seen their careers going in different directions this season. Last night’s game marked the return of infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka (see-OH’-shee nee-shee-OH’-kuh) from Triple-A Rochester, to replace Danny Valencia who was traded to Boston. Nishioka went 0 for 5 at the plate and committed two errors at second base. Meanwhile, Twins rightfielder Ben Revere continued on his torrid pace this season after being called up from the minor leagues. Revere went 4-for-5, scoring three runs and improving his average to .331. Revere is also now riding a 20-game hitting streak.
