The tab has topped $100,000 for the Minnesota Senate’s legal costs related to a lawsuit from a former aide terminated after an affair with the top Republican leader. Former senior communications aide Michael Brodkorb sued last month, alleging invasion of privacy, defamation and gender discrimination. He contends that female employees involved in similar relationships didn’t lose their jobs. Brodkorb was fired in December after then-Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch relinquished her leadership role. Their affair later became public. The Senate’s legal costs through July in the case have now reached $102,403.
