Authorities spent over an hour searching for a missing 2-year-old boy near New Ulm Sunday evening. A family from the Twin Cities was visiting friends in Nicollet County’s Lafayette Township when the boy reportedly wandered away into a cornfield at around 6:20pm and a frantic search began. Nicollet County authorities were assisted by Brown County Sheriff’s deputies, the Minnesota DNR, the state patrol, and several fire crews, but it was reportedly a family member on an ATV that spotted the toddler on the edge of the cornfield. The boy suffered a few scratches, but was otherwise unharmed.
