The sounds of the Blues will be echoing throughout the Minnesota River Valley in New Ulm this weekend as part of the annual Riverblast celebration. The free festival at Riverside Park in New Ulm features live entertainment today (FRI) and Saturday. It kicks off at 5 o’clock today with the Barefoot Winos, and continues with Eric “Guitar” Davis and the Troublemakers tonight. Donnie Klossner opens the festival tomorrow at 11am, followed by the Little Prairie Pickers, the Bockfest Boys, and Smokehouse. Riverblast Spokesperson Scott Sparlin says that it’s a great way to celebrate the Minnesota River. Riverblast also has food and beverages, camping in Riverside Park, trolley rides along the river, free face-painting, a playground for the kids, information about the Minnesota River, and more.
