The opening of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida has been delayed due to Hurricane Isaac. The now three-day convention will start Tuesday and will still feature all of the major scheduled speeches. Mitt Romney is expected to receive the GOP presidential nomination, but 32 of Minnesota’s 40 RNC delegates have been supporting Ron Paul. State delegation chair Marianne Stebbins says they hope to influence other delegates with their message, and to let the Republican Party know the liberty movement will be here for a long time to come. Stebbins has pledged to vote for the eventual Republican nominee while other Paul supporters from Minnesota have not. Romney stopped in the Lake Minnetonka area last Thursday and raised one-million dollars at a pair of private fundraisers.
