Local Senior State Recognition 31 Aug 12

One of the recipients of the Brown County Outstanding Senior Citizen Award this summer was chosen as a 2012 Minnesota Outstanding Senior Citizen on Thursday at the State Fair. Annette Perry received the recognition for her work benefiting the needy in the community and around the world. She was part of the Little Dresses For Africa project, and has also sewn and distributed hundreds of quilts for those in need, worked with the New Ulm Park and Rec Puppet Wagon, has helped the New Ulm MRCI store, and served as a People Reaching Out Mentor, amongst other volunteer activities. Darryl Hill of Owatonna also received a Minnesota Outstanding Senior Citizen Award Thursday at the State Fair.
