Authorities in Le Sueur County spent the weekend rounding up loose cattle. At around 7am Saturday about 40 head of cattle escaped from a fenced area east of Le Center, and members of the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Posse were called in. Their job was made harder, however, when the animals broke up into smaller groups. Drivers were being warned to watch for cattle while driving in Le Sueur County. They were reportedly wandering in corn fields and wooded areas about two or three miles east of Le Center, as well as just south of Highway 99.
