The men’s basketball coach at Southwest Minnesota State University continues his recovery after a head-on crash over the weekend which killed his five-month-old son. 33-year-old Brad Bigler of Marshall was critically-injured, as was his wife’s grandmother. SMSU Athletic Director Chris Hmielewski says that the Bigler family has a lot of support from both the SMSU and Marshall communities. Heather Bigler suffered minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, Dana Schoen of Starbuck, faces three felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide and a DWI charge after being found to have a blood-alcohol level of .351 following the crash, or more than 4 times the legal limit. He was not hurt.
