Farmfest got underway today (TUE) at the Gilfillan Estate west of Morgan, and southern Minnesota Congressman Tim Walz and the two Republicans competing to challenge him are on hand. Walz and Republicans Mike Parry and Allen Quist are participating in a forum on agricultural and rural issues. Also taking part are Representative Collin Peterson and Republican challenger Lee Byberg from the 7th District and Democratic challenger Mike Obermueller from the 2nd District. That forum begins at 10:30. Governor Dayton and Senator Al Franken also speak at Farmfest today, and there’s a US Senate candidate forum tomorrow at 10:30 as well. Both candidate forums will be broadcast on 860AM-KNUJ beginning at 6pm on Wednesday. Farmfest features well over 500 exhibitors, and runs through Thursday. KNUJ will be broadcasting from Farmfest throughout the 3 days as well.
