Cattle Still On The Loose 14 Aug 12

Authorities are continuing to advise caution to motorists driving near LeCenter after several cattle remain on the loose after more than a week. Around 40 of the animals escaped from a fenced area east of LeCenter on Saturday, August 4th, and the LeSueur County Sheriff’s Office says that upwards of 5 of them are still out there. Authorities say that the cattle are hiding in corn fields, and only get up and roam around at dusk, making it tougher to find them. People driving through Le Sueur County are being urged to use caution because the animals weigh around 800 pounds each, and would cause more damage than a deer in a collision.
