Brown County Butterhead 29 Aug 12

As the Minnesota State Fair continues, the local-area Princess Kay of the Milky Way Finalists are getting their likenesses carved into 90-pound blocks of AMPI butter made in New Ulm. Princess Kay Finalist Brown County Dairy Princess Laura Rosenhammer of Sleepy Eye says that it’s exciting that the Butterheads come from so close to home. Milk from her farm goes to AMPI, and she says it’s “really awesome” to have a piece of home in every Butterhead. Rosenhammer will have her Butterhead carved by longtime Butter Sculptor Linda Christiansen this Friday at the State Fair. Other local finalists, McLeod County Dairy Princess Kelsey Buss and Carver County Dairy Princesses Victoria Haler and Valerie Grimm have already had their Butterheads made, and you can see pictures of them in the “Gallery” section of www.knuj.net.
