A four-car pileup on Highway 13 between Waseca and New Richland on Friday closed the road temporarily and left one person hospitalized. The chain-reaction crash started with a vehicle driven by 15-year-old Arin Boese of Waseca waiting to make a left turn onto 260th Avenue from southbound Highway 13. Two cars behind her also stopped, but a fourth vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Alexander Enderson of Albert Lea rear-ended the vehicle that was third in line. The resulting pileup led to portions of the highway being closed. An 18-year-old woman from Ankenny, Iowa who was a passenger in one of the stopped vehicles, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
