Special Session Planned 12 Jul 12

Governor Dayton and legislative leaders say they plan to hold a special session in late August to approve state assistance for storm- and flood-stricken areas of Minnesota. The governor says the process is currently waiting on FEMA approval for individual assistance. Dayton says that state assistance for individual homeowners is also possible. He says to help affected cities and counties the state could also pick up 25% of the cost of infrastructure repairs — the portion which the federal government would not pay for.
