Redwood Woman’s Murderer Guilty 31 Jul 12

The husband of a Redwood Falls native found dead in Colorado in 2010 has been found guilty of murder. The body of 41-year-old Stephanie Roller-Bruner was found in the Blue River near her home 3 days after her husband reported her missing. Her cause of death was determined to be a combination of blunt force trauma, strangulation, hypothermia and drowning, and her husband, Dale Bruner was indicted by a grand jury on murder charges last August. His trial had been ongoing for the past 2 weeks, and on Friday the jury deliberated for only four hours before returning guilty verdicts on all six charges against him, including 2nd-degree murder, assault, and tampering with evidence. He was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs, and his sentencing is set for September 28th. The couple had been married for 11 years. Stephanie Roller-Bruner was a 1987 graduate of Redwood Valley High School. She had reportedly filed for divorce just prior to her disappearance. Her brother is now caring for the couple’s 3 children in California.
