19 consumption experts competed for the Sauerkraut Eating  Championship Saturday, July 21, at Bavarian Blast in New Ulm.  21 year old Valentine Gasteiger of Germany was declared champion.  Gasteiger ate a pound of sauerkraut unofficially in about two minutes.
