A 20-year-old Gaylord man has been convicted of fleeing from police on foot in Sibley County Court. Corey Douglas Harris-Peterson had a warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation when Gaylord Police came to his residence on High Avenue. He escaped out the back door and fled, however, and a brief foot chase began. Harris-Peterson was found hiding behind the car wash in Gaylord and taken into custody. He was sentenced to 6 days in jail for the crime, but is facing up to a year in jail for violating his probation, which stems from a felony theft conviction.
