The Excessive Heat Warning continues for one more day today (FRI), and state health officials have some recommendations to help Minnesotans stay cool during the heat wave. The Health Department’s Kristin Raab says that there are some options if you do not have access to air conditioning, including taking a cold bath or shower, getting some rest, and drinking electrolyte-containing fluids and water. The signs of heat exhaustion include profuse sweating, weakness, rapid breathing and dizziness. Raab says that electric fans are usually not sufficient to help prevent heat-related illness when the temperatures are in the 90s. Temps are expected to cool off a bit overnight tonight.
