A Willmar man convicted of taking part in a weeks-long crime spree in Renville County and the surrounding area last summer has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for writing checks on another person’s account in Kandiyohi County. 38-year-old Matthew James Wrobleski also was ordered to pay a $50 fine for the felony check forgery charge. He faces multiple charges in Renville County for breaking into a home and stealing several vehicles, which led to an intensive manhunt around the area last September. The Kandiyohi County sentence will be served concurrently with Wrobleski’s sentence in Renville County on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle. That sentencing was originally set to take place earlier this week, but has now been scheduled for July 23rd while “issues” with Wrobleski’s plea deal are worked out. He is also facing charges in Meeker County.
