Strong storms came sweeping through much of Minnesota last (SUN) night, prompting Tornado Warnings in parts of the KNUJ area. Doppler Radar had indicated the possibility of tornadoes forming during the storms, leading to warnings for parts of Sibley, Scott and Carver Counties, as well as parts of the Twin Cities area. In Scott County, a roof was blown off an outbuilding south of Belle Plaine, and a 48-foot grain bin was blown into a field and a shed was reported down. There was reportedly damage to the baseball field in the City of Brownton in McLeod County as well. No injuries have been reported. At the height of the storm, more than 17,000 Xcel Energy customers were without power. New Ulm saw heavy rain and a momentary power outage, but no reports of serious damage have been received.
